Welcome to my blog!
We all have certain photographs that will stay with us forever, whether it's the ultimate favourite from the family album, the simplest image capturing the emotions of everyday life or even the fabulously romantic black and white image of the The Kiss by Robert Doisneau.
I believe it's the simplicity of a photograph, that moment in time never to be repeated that is as profound as a written personal history and which makes us realise that life is precious and that every day, every moment counts.
Here I not only hope to keep you up to date with occasional news and happenings with my work but also to share with you images that will hopefully inspire and move you in some way......Enjoy!

Where do I start to describe this beautiful young girl, Natalya!
I had photographed Natty two years earlier aged 12 years old and so when her mum asked me to photograph her again I was really excited. She is one of the easiest kids to work with, completely comfortable and really natural in front of the camera. This time Natty wanted some images to begin her model portfolio and so we headed off to Marlow and then ended up by the river in Henley. I’m sure that you will agree that at just age 14, she is destined for a great modelling career! Good luck, Natty. Lx

Here’s an update from a previous blog posting involving a commercial art project at the Lane End Conference Centre which is nestled in the Chiltern Hills in Buckinghamshire.
As an absolute coffee addict myself …..yep I have to start each day with my huge french cup aka ‘a bucket’ of coffee and so I particularly enjoyed creating these images for the coffee lounge area.
More images from this project to come! Lx

I found myself with a very rare but welcome ‘quiet’ period a couple of weeks ago which gave me time to catch up a little on my backlog of photography which I have not had the chance to organise and post on my blog. Here is the first of a number which I hope to update you with this long weekend.
Love these images from Isobel’s birthday party in Amersham a couple of weeks ago. This young lady turned eleven and had a wonderful group of friends round for her party. Much fun was had by all, it was a pleasure to be able to capture some great images of the friends together and to meet Issy and her lovely family.
A few kind words from Issy’s parents:
Dear Lily,
Just wanted to say how amazed and delighted we all were at the photos – they are brilliant! Thanks so much again – you really made Issy’s party special.
The balloons were an addition to the shoot from the party shop above Choco-Latte coffee shop in Marlow adding a colourful dimension on an otherwise dull and very cold (although luckily not wet) April day.
I love the images of the girls with the balloons….they are sooooo Miss Dior Cherie! Lx

I was so excited this week to get a sneak preview of a collection of my photographic art which will be on permanent display at the Lane End Conference Centre. This residential venue is set in 26 acres of tranquil Buckinghamshire countryside that boasts extensive conference and sports and leisure facilities and is an ideal place for meetings and team events. The venue’s sales and marketing director, Heni Fourie, had commissioned me at the end of last year to take photographs in the grounds of the Conference Centre with the aim of building a body of images to be displayed as a collection of art in the newly refurbished lounge area and dining room.
It was a wonderful challenge to create inspiring and colourful images featuring elements of the buildings, the environment and life at the venue in the depths of winter…the kind of challenge which I fully embrace!
The finishing touches for the artwork were skillfully completed by local framer Alex from Bespoke Framing who did a wonderful job of framing each photograph. It was a pleasure to meet him and work with him on this project.
I was delighted to see the images in the dining room installed and looking great as an eclectic collection. The photographs in the coffee lounge area were in the process of being hung when I was there and I can’t wait to see the finished rooms!
Once all the renovations are complete, I will return to take some images of the refurbished rooms and keep you posted with an update. Lx

Last week I attended the British Institute of Professional Photographers (BIPP) South East Region Awards 2011 which were held at Tattershall Castle on the Victoria Embankment, London. It was the most glorious bright and crisp sunny winter’s day with fabulous views over the river Thames just across from the London Eye - a wonderful setting. The competition attracts entries from professional members from the South East region in a range of categories.
I was delighted to achieve recognition for two of my images in two categories – I was awarded a silver award for my ‘Bed’ image in the abstract/illustrative category and a merit award for my portrait of Natalya in the People & Portraiture category. See all the award winning images here Lx

I have a number of clients who invite me back into their lives every year to record their journey together as a family. As their photographer I feel extremely honored to be asked to record those special moments which become a family treasure.
Here are a few of my favourites.

So good they named it twice…..

For those of you who are fans of the Home Alone movies and the Eloise books, here is the Plaza Hotel. So very pretty….
The shopping on 5th Avenue was just fabulous or in this case I should say, the window shopping!

and of course for those of us with jet lag the Apple cube is open 24 hours a day

Love Grand Central Station. Lx

August 1st, 2011
Wow I can not believe that it is August already, the months have just whizzed by so far this year!
I have had a fun and busy time working these last 6 months or so since my last blog with one of the highlights being a commission which took place in Monte Carlo in March. It was a lot of fun with a great team and in such a beautiful place! Now that I am winding down somewhat for the summer holidays, I am going to be updating my blog with images that I have been extremely lax in editing and posting.
I am starting with the gorgeous Chester Dog who is now almost 10 months old and still as adorable as the day we brought him home only a lot bigger! He has these funny looking lanky legs and big paws at the moment that he will grow in to and is very funny often having us in stitches. He has done the Andrex puppy trick when he was about 12 weeks old, pinching the toilet paper from the downstairs bathroom and running through the house with it before from sitting down and getting great satisfaction from shredding it. One of the funniest things he does is picking up Harrison’s scrum cap and walking around with it. The cap completely covers his head and he can not see where he is going and so he ends up walking in to the walls and furniture…..at least we know his head is protected! However, his cutest habit has to be insisting on carrying his own lead when we approach our house after a walk. As soon as we come out of the woods and we have him safely across the road, he takes his lead in his mouth and runs home down the drive to the house… very cute..Lx

I have been a little preoccupied lately with the new addition to our family.
Meet Chester, the gorgeous black labrador puppy.
Chester arrived just before Christmas and has been a little furry black energetic bundle of joy! This is our first family pet and we are all madly in love with him.
He is named after Chester Williams best known as the star winger of the South Africa national Springbok team that won the 1995 Rugby World Cup against New Zealand and was nicknamed “The Black Pearl” ….. yes you guessed it, I am married to a South African (and huge rugby fan).
We picked him up in the heavy snowfall aged 7 weeks. Here are a few images of Chester’s first days with us. Lx
