I was so excited this week to get a sneak preview of a collection of my photographic art which will be on permanent display at the Lane End Conference Centre. This residential venue is set in 26 acres of tranquil Buckinghamshire countryside that boasts extensive conference and sports and leisure facilities and is an ideal place for meetings and team events. The venue’s sales and marketing director, Heni Fourie, had commissioned me at the end of last year to take photographs in the grounds of the Conference Centre with the aim of building a body of images to be displayed as a collection of art in the newly refurbished lounge area and dining room.
It was a wonderful challenge to create inspiring and colourful images featuring elements of the buildings, the environment and life at the venue in the depths of winter…the kind of challenge which I fully embrace!
The finishing touches for the artwork were skillfully completed by local framer Alex from Bespoke Framing who did a wonderful job of framing each photograph. It was a pleasure to meet him and work with him on this project.
I was delighted to see the images in the dining room installed and looking great as an eclectic collection. The photographs in the coffee lounge area were in the process of being hung when I was there and I can’t wait to see the finished rooms!
Once all the renovations are complete, I will return to take some images of the refurbished rooms and keep you posted with an update. Lx

Last week I attended the British Institute of Professional Photographers (BIPP) South East Region Awards 2011 which were held at Tattershall Castle on the Victoria Embankment, London. It was the most glorious bright and crisp sunny winter’s day with fabulous views over the river Thames just across from the London Eye - a wonderful setting. The competition attracts entries from professional members from the South East region in a range of categories.
I was delighted to achieve recognition for two of my images in two categories – I was awarded a silver award for my ‘Bed’ image in the abstract/illustrative category and a merit award for my portrait of Natalya in the People & Portraiture category. See all the award winning images here Lx

So good they named it twice…..

For those of you who are fans of the Home Alone movies and the Eloise books, here is the Plaza Hotel. So very pretty….
The shopping on 5th Avenue was just fabulous or in this case I should say, the window shopping!

and of course for those of us with jet lag the Apple cube is open 24 hours a day

Love Grand Central Station. Lx

Wow I can not believe that it is August already, the months have just whizzed by so far this year!
I have had a fun and busy time working these last 6 months or so since my last blog with one of the highlights being a commission which took place in Monte Carlo in March. It was a lot of fun with a great team and in such a beautiful place! Now that I am winding down somewhat for the summer holidays, I am going to be updating my blog with images that I have been extremely lax in editing and posting.
I am starting with the gorgeous Chester Dog who is now almost 10 months old and still as adorable as the day we brought him home only a lot bigger! He has these funny looking lanky legs and big paws at the moment that he will grow in to and is very funny often having us in stitches. He has done the Andrex puppy trick when he was about 12 weeks old, pinching the toilet paper from the downstairs bathroom and running through the house with it before from sitting down and getting great satisfaction from shredding it. One of the funniest things he does is picking up Harrison’s scrum cap and walking around with it. The cap completely covers his head and he can not see where he is going and so he ends up walking in to the walls and furniture…..at least we know his head is protected! However, his cutest habit has to be insisting on carrying his own lead when we approach our house after a walk. As soon as we come out of the woods and we have him safely across the road, he takes his lead in his mouth and runs home down the drive to the house… very cute..Lx

I had the pleasure of photographing Ella and her friends for her birthday party at Hughenden Manor at the end of October. It was such a beautiful time of year and a glorious day. The colours were wonderfully rich and we had lots of fun playing with the leaves that had cascaded from the trees. I always take individual images of all the girls as well as a selection of group shots. Here are some of my favourite images. Lx

Well, it’s that time of year again….. The aga is on and I am wrapping up, slowly adding on additional layers as I stand on the side of the rugby and lacrosse pitches watching my children’s matches most weekends….. I do the Michelin Man look very well!
I am loving the beautiful, fresh, sunny Autumnal days, although sad that they are getting dramatically shorter each day. The beautiful burnt oranges, yellows and reds are deepening and cascading everywhere around us offering one of he most exciting times of year for family shoots. Perfect for getting the wellies and woolies on and going for fun walks in the woods, park, or by the river.
Remember to book your shoot in time for Christmas presents by 13th November as this is the last available shoot date for orders for Christmas! (I only have a couple of dates remaining).
Here’s some inspiration from this fun autumn shoot at the Great Windsor Park.

With much of the attention being on the world cup in South Africa these last couple of weeks, I can’t help but think back to the times I have spent in that amazing country. If you have ever spent time in Africa, you will know that it gets under your skin.
It is a place where you fall in love with the earth, with nature, with the human spirit. It is a place on earth where you are humbled by the wonder of our existence.
The last time we visited we spent a week at the end of our stay at a game reserve on the Botswana border with South Africa.
Here are some of the images from this wonderful place on earth where we wake with the dramatic red skies, we smell the dust of the red earth and where we embrace the mysteries of nature…..Lx

Following on from my last post, here’s the challenge…….
Look beyond the obvious and see the beauty in simplicity, see the story in everyday life and the world around us. Embrace your unique perspective, understand your sense of beauty and stop and photograph the things that make you emotional.
Be open….. be curious…. be genuine….we must challenge ourselves and see not only with our eyes but with all that we are.
Lx.
